This bill amends the Public Officers Law to extend conflict of interest prohibitions to spouses, domestic or romantic partners, household members, and immediate family of New York state legislators. It treats any financial interest or pecuniary benefit received by these relatives as an indirect interest of the legislator, and prohibits them from knowingly accepting such benefits from entities that have matters pending before state or local agencies and could benefit from the legislator's official actions. Violations can be cured by full divestment or return of the benefit within 14 days of discovery.
