Welcome to Citizen.
Citizen makes you the most-informed citizen in your district — showing how well your representatives' votes line up with the issues you care about, and nothing else. Here's a quick tour of where everything lives.
Your score (0–100) measures how closely your representatives’ recorded votes match the issue positions you set during sign-up. It is calculated only from public voting records — never opinions or party. A higher score means closer agreement with your stated positions; it is a mirror, not a grade, and never a voting instruction.
See your scorecard →At the top of your Notifications page, the Daily Dispatch bundles everything that moved on your issues that day into one card. Open it for a summary, then open any bill to read the details. The arrow shows whether the day’s activity, taken together, nudged your alignment up or down.
Go to notifications →Notifications is your inbox, bundled by day. Use the filters to focus on Bills, Votes, Scores, Elections or Briefs. A bill that affected your score shows a small up-arrow (it raised your alignment) or a down-arrow (it lowered it) on its card.
Change what you receive →Select the star on any bill to follow it. Followed bills alert you whenever they advance, get a vote, or change status — so you never miss movement on the legislation you care about most.
Bills you follow →Your representatives page shows everyone who represents your address — federal, state, and your governor — each scored against your issues. Open a representative to see their voting record, how each vote affected your score, and where they align or diverge from your positions.
Your representatives →Elections tracks upcoming dates, your registration status, sample ballots, and where you vote. Election dates come from official Secretary of State records; ballot and polling details come from Google’s Civic Information service.
Election center →Some content — bill summaries, key provisions, and search answers — is AI-generated to save you reading time. It always carries an “AI-generated” label and may contain errors, so verify anything important against the official source. The alignment score itself is fully deterministic: AI is never in the scoring loop.
