The LIHTC Security Act amends the Internal Revenue Code to prohibit certain non-qualified alien individuals from occupying low-income units in housing projects that receive the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). It conditions the full tax credit on 100% compliance with this occupancy rule (phased in with a 75% transition period until 2031), while allowing states to opt out of the restriction in exchange for a permanent 5% reduction in their annual housing credit dollar amount.
